About Xena
I am the forever loyal Xena. I'm a sterilised 5 year old Great Dane cross Mastiff. My beautiful family needs to move overseas for work and are heartbroken I can’t go with them. I love my family; I will miss them terribly and they will be in my heart always, but I know we’ll find me another amazing family to love and be a super important part of.
I take my role in the family seriously. I stay close and am willingly accept your choice of movie to watch with you. If you’re not well, don’t worry, I will be right by your bed until you’re ready to come have fun with me again. I will let you know if anyone is about the property needing our attention and make sure they know I’m on duty. I love the 3 mini humans in my family and would be keen to adopt a few more in my future. Hanging with mum and the kids is a lifestyle I’m accustomed to. I don’t know about cats; I’ve never met one.
While I’m considerate of the needs of all my family members I think it’s only fair I get a little Xena time too. I like to be active but I’m not a crazy pup anymore at the age of 6. The ultimate for me is a walk with a run around at least every other day to keep me feeling young and invigorated. I’m perfectly healthy, fit and young at heart and I want to stay this way! In saying that, mum makes fun of me sometimes after a big run in the bush calling me a cat just because I like to lay around and perform extended naps for the next day or so. It makes it pretty easy to live with me, I’m a good girl and any destruction days are long gone.
I have some doggy friends but extending my friend group isn’t a priority of mine. My family is everything to me and I’m happy to just pass by other canines. When I’ve met the odd rude dog that has got in my face, I tell them to back off and give me my personal space. This is effective but not something I like to have to keep doing.
I’ve always lived in the suburbs, but I think I’d rather like a country life too. There’d be some things that would probably be easier for me than others. I have to admit I think I’d be up for chasing roos (who wouldn’t?!) but I’m not an accomplished jumper so a fence might end my hopes of the chase.
I’m a little worried about my family, I hope they will be ok without me. They are being very unselfish and seeking out my new home a little before they go to make our parting as easy as it can be and to give enough time to find the most perfect family for me love. They really want to see me happy and safe before they leave.
If you understand large breeds like me, my dad was a Great Dane and my mum was a Mastiff, then you know how our big presence in the home is the best thing, ever! We are sensitive, need LOTS of love and reciprocate it back more than you imagine.
Please contact Lisa if you think you can be my next perfect home.
