About Buddy
Meet BUDDY, a charming feline ready to captivate the hearts of his forever family. Dressed in his sleek grey tuxedo, he is eager to impress with his affectionate nature. BUDDY is very confident and easily adapts to new environments.
BUDDY loves human companionship and enjoys being around you, next to you, on you or observing you through a window while you're outside.
Whether it's your lap, a cozy spot on the sofa, or the comfort of your bed, he enjoys the close proximity to people. He loves to smooch up to you.
BUDDY is confident and chilled around children and has even let a 2 year old gently pat him. He would suit a range of households including those with children. He needs to be indoor only or have a catio or secure outdoor enclosure as he has been known to wander quite far.
Playtime is an enriching experience for BUDDY, especially when interactive cat toys are involved. He appreciates it when you engage in playtime with him.
He is an incredibly loving companion who enjoys pats and playing with toys. He's a hit with visitors and pet sitters alike - all of whom think he's simply the best cat.
Occasionally, he may express his desire to go outside with vocal reminders. This does not last long and redirecting his attention through playtime, pats or calling his name manages this.
Adopting this extraordinary gentleman comes with the promise of a loyal and affectionate companion.
Buddy's journey through life hasn't been without its challenges. After going missing for a year, his previous family decided not to take him back when he was found, as they had already adopted another kitten. It's truly a shame, considering he gets along with other cats and will groom Capri - our other foster cat.
Can you give BUDDY the forever home he deserves.

Medical notes
Buddy is FIV+, this means his immune system is not as robust as in an FIV negative cat. However, there is now a lot of research and studies that show FIV+ cats can live long, healthy lives just like FIV negative cats, if they receive a high quality diet and routine veterinary care, and live an indoor lifestyle to prevent exposure to harmful parasites and infectious diseases.
FIV negative and positive cats can live together with minimal risk of transmission of FIV. FIV is only transferred via deep bite wounds, not through behaviours such as mutual grooming or through fomites, as the virus can not survive outside the infected cat's body for any length of time. His teeth are in excellent condition which is great news for an FIV+ cat.
Buddy has a skin allergy which is being managed by being on a special diet. He is fed Hills ZD dry and/or Royal Canin Hypoallergenic dry food. This has proven effective in managing his allergy. He will also eat Hills Z/D wet food and can also eat Ziwi Peak Venison (a good food if you wanted to treat him for a day) with no negative effects to his skin.
Skin allergies can put people off adopting cats because of concerns over the cost. A 3.8kg bag of Hills Z/D dry can be purchased online for around $84. At 70g a day, this will last 55 days so the total daily cost for food would be around $1.53 a day which is very inexpensive when compared to feeding a cat wet food like Fancy Feast or Felix or even premium cat food.
