About Comet
Introducing Comet! Comet is a Cattle Dog x born on 30th April 2013.
Don't let her age fool you, Comet is still an excitable & energetic girl who loves her daily walks!
Sweet Comet was brought in to us as an unmicrochipped stray with another female Cattle x. We believe both girls have previously been used for breeding.
It looks as though Comet has (at some stage in her life) fallen off the back of a ute as she is missing the foot off her back left leg & has some healed damage to her skull. This hasn't slowed her down & she still has so much love to give!
We believe Comet has been a farm dog & hasn't been allowed to enjoy the comforts of a warm & cosy house. We would love for her new family to allow her to be an inside dog (if she would like to be) & to shower her in love & affection for the rest of her retirement years.
Unfortunately Comet didn't test well with other dogs, so she will need to be the only dog at home, however she was unfazed by cats & pocket pets. With a slow & controlled introduction we believe she would be fine living with cats & pocket pets such as rabbits & chickens.
Comet has shown slight signs of separation anxiety at the facility. While this may be settled in a home environment, she may howl if left alone for long periods of time.
Comet shows no signs of food aggression towards humans, however she will need to be fed separately from any other animals in the home.
Comet's adoption fee is $350 and includes her desexing, lifetime registration & current vaccination. Comet is also regularly treated for flea and worms.

Comet is located in East Maitland.
Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
