About Kiwi
Please only apply for this greyhound if you have:
- A home with lots of love to give this affectionate boy!
Kiwi is soft and brown on the outside and sweet on the inside like a kiwi fruit. He is very affectionate and friendly with every human he meets. He LOVES to get tummy rubs and head rubs, and to spend time in the same room as where the people are. He is a big snuggler and spends the vast majority of his time relaxing in his bed or on the couch. He is a big fan of the couch, but is also happy in a big fluffy dog bed. He likes to lay and watch tv with his people.
He likes 1 or 2 short, gentle walks a day, and is often happy just going around the block before returning to bed. He does not pull on the lead, but can sometimes zig zag to find all the sniffs. He is not fussed by traffic noise or passing trams. He is interested in meeting medium and large sized dogs, but is reactive to small dogs. He likes to greet the humans he passes on walks.
He loves to snuggle with soft toys and can have little zoomies on occasion when he is playing with his favourite human. He likes yoghurt but doesn’t like peanut butter (yet).
He can get into the car but can be reluctant to get out of the car, so would benefit from some further car training. He is fully toilet trained and is happy to take himself out to the courtyard to go to the toilet as needed.
He would be fine as a solo dog or with a large female dog. He would suit an older person as he has low exercise needs and is fairly sedate. He has been fine being fostered with full time workers but we think he would be happiest with someone who is home more.
He wouldn’t need a big yard, he’d be just fine with a small courtyard or outdoor area for toileting. He has been fine with a couple of steps to get up into the house, but we wouldn’t suggest a home with lots of stairs.
Kiwi can’t wait to be your cuddly couch companion ??
[Note: Under Victorian Law greyhounds must be on-leash at all times in public areas, including in off-leash parks or ovals]
