About Bond
Looking for some more happiness in your life? Meet Bond!
This charming little fellow is one to make friends wherever he goes. Bond is very social dog that loves people. He will put his paws up on your knees to reach up for pats and he might get a sneaky lick in as well. Bond won’t say no to hopping into your lap for a cuddle either – he just leans in against you. In the evenings, he will happily curl up on the lounge with you for some snuggle time. Bond is happy and playful in nature. He enjoys exploring the yard and his absolute favourite toy is anything that squeaks! On the scales, Bond is approximately 10kg in size and he is very handsome little guy with his dark coat and white socks. It is rare to see him without a smile on his face and with his tail wagging away.
While in foster care, Bond has been living with a number of other dogs of varying sizes and ages. He has also met some doggie friends on outings, and he has been friendly with all of them. Bond enjoys having some rumble time and will entice the others to play with him. He has learned to walk on lead nicely with guidance from his foster carer. He could be overwhelmed if walked in really busy areas so his new owners should have the ability to continue to build his confidence and be able to identify if his threshold is reached. Despite being a little dog, he is an exuberant character who will need a decent amount of daily exercise and mental stimulation to keep him happy and healthy throughout his life.
Bond is quite intelligent and picks up training well. He follows directions and responds quickly to corrections. This clever boy can sit for a treat and is now learning stay, particularly at doorways. His foster carer has been brushing up on some typical puppy like behaviours such as jumping up and mouthing clothing when they walk – he is progressing well, but his new owners should be willing to continue to give him structure and guidance in his new home. Bond has been crate trained and he sleeps there throughout the night without a peep. He is also a fantastic traveller in the car and never had a toilet accident in the house.
We are looking for a dog experienced home where Bond will be a part of the family. He would love to live with another playful small/medium sized dog who would be able to be respectful with him at first while they got acquainted. Otherwise, he would be ok to live as an only dog if someone was home more often than not and he was given the opportunity to socialise with some other friendly dogs in a controlled environment (e.g. playdates with friend’s dogs rather than a dog park).
Bond should be allowed inside to be with the family and will need a warm comfy bed inside to sleep on at night. He has been in foster care with a cat – he shows no aggression but may think that a running cat is a playmate so would only be ok to be rehomed with a cat if they were stable, less flighty and used to living with dogs already. Bond briefly met children while in care and showed nice manners with them; however, we feel he is best suited to living with no or older children (>12yo) who are dog savvy and could participate in his training. He is a little nervous around traffic when out so would be best suited to a suburban or quieter life rather than the inner city. Whoever adopts this beautiful little boy will have a lot of joy brought to their household filled with cuddles.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
