NOTE: You are unable to meet Isla until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Isla in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.


What I need in my new home:
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• To be allowed inside with my family
• I appear to be quite dominant with other female dogs but more comfortable around males. If going to a home with another dog it is recommended a tolerant/social dog that is preferably male.
• I arrived at the shelter as a stray so my history is unknown. Due to this, my interaction with cats that are free roaming in the house or yard is completely unknown. There can be no guarantee that I will be ok living with cats, however when introduced to cats at the shelter I was wary and tried to avoid them, so I may be ok with a dog savvy cat and slow introduction.
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• Lots of love and attention
• I am a clever, young and active doggo - I would be great for dog training, trick training, agility etc.
• Being an active breed I have a lot of energy so an active family is a must!

Things that I don’t want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
• Small children/toddlers due to being bouncy when excited
• No Free range pocket pets/fowl etc. due to my breed & herding tendencies

My best features:
• As sweet as can be & a big cuddle bug
• Very people orientated & responsive to handler
• VERY food motivated and has the drive and focus to learn
• I can sit, stay and lay down when asked
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans
• I walk really well on the lead, only pulling lightly
• I love attention, hugs, kisses & head scratches
• Exuberant & full of beans
• Will make someone a wonderfully loyal and lifelong best friend

Where I need to improve / Training required
• I will benefit from further basic training so that I am the best mannered girl that I can be
• I can be a bit bouncy - training & positive reinforcement should stop this
• I can be selective with other dogs - once settled in a home further socialization in a controlled environment with other dogs is recommended
