NOTE: You are unable to meet Milo until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Milo in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.


What I need in my new home:
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• To be allowed inside with my family
• I can be a little hit and miss with other dogs. I seem to be a lot more comfortable around submissive/tolerant/social female dogs.
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• Lots of love and attention
• Being a working breed I will require an active family and adequate physical & mental enrichment - I will bark if bored

Things that I don't want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
• I grew up with kids however I am probably best suited to a home with no young kids/toddlers due to timidness in some situations and possible cattle dog tendencies of nipping, barking and rounding up
• I had a relaxed and gentle demeanor when introduced to cats and pocket pets, however due to possible cattle dog tendencies of nipping, barking and rounding up I am best suited to a home with no small animals that are free range

My best features:
• Lovable ball of fun
• Very affectionate and cuddly boy
• Very food motivated
• I LOVE toys & playing
• I can sit on command
• I LOVE the water, playing with the hose & the beach
• I am very responsive to my name
• I am used to being allowed inside/outside and am housetrained
• I am clever and eager to learn so would love a family who will teach me some cool tricks.

Where I need to improve / Training required
• I will benefit from further basic training so that I am the best mannered boy that I can be
• I can pull quite strongly on the lead when trying to get to somewhere of interest - further on lead training and walking in a harness/halti should help this.
• I can be a little shy/timid in unfamiliar situations but become comfortable quickly, lots of socialization and trips out and about recommended.
• I can be hit & miss with other dogs, I seem to be a lot more comfortable around submissive/tolerant/social female dogs. Once settled in a home further socialization with other friendly dogs in a controlled environment would be very beneficial for me.
