About Boo
Hi! I’m Boo and I’m looking for a new family to call my own.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR BOO
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM
https://forms.gle/bpnuwVPuar5d1RBn8
NOTE: You are unable to meet Boo until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Boo in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.
What I need in my new home:
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• A doggie companion is a MUST to keep me company when my family isn't home or a family that is home all the time. I suffer from separation anxiety which results in whining and attempting to get to you.
• I LOVE other dogs and will need to go to a home with a confident and well socialised dog as I am fearful of new people so having a confident friendly dog by my side will help me with my confidence.
• I am a very shy girl when you first meet me so a family with a lot of patience is needed to let me get use to my new surroundings on my own terms and then continue on with my socialising out in the big world.
• MUST allowed inside with my family
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation, I am a very playful girl
• Lots of love and attention
• I can be shy at first so I need a family who’ll allow me to grow in confidence in my own time
• I have lots of energy so an active family is a must
• SOCIALISATION is as important for me as it appears I've led a very sheltered life and can be a bit nervous/shy in new situations. Since being at the shelter I'm becoming much braver though. Taking me to lots of different places, meeting lots of people (children, men, woman etc) and meeting lots of dogs and other animals will help boost my confidence
Things that I don’t want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Children due to my fear of new people.
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
• Cats or small animals as I may find them fun to chase
My best features:
• Very playful
• Wiggle butt
• Highly food motivated
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans
• Happy to hang out with other friendly dogs
• Love to snooze on the couch
• Exuberant & full of beans
Where I need to improve / Training required
• I will require training as I've had little training experience so far
• I am shy at first with new people and in new environments so will require a family who will take their time allowing me to settle in and continue on with my socialization.
• I can be a bit bouncy -training should stop this
• I may show signs of anxiety when I'm left alone in the backyard. Having another dog for company will be highly beneficial for me.
• I do walk quite well on the lead once settled, however I can pull if something interests me and can be quite skittish if startled so walking in a harness is recommended
• I am very scared getting into cars and can freak out so someone who is happy to slowly desensitise me to cars is needed.
Medical notes
Diagnosed by vet as having Grade 2 luxating patellas, both hind legs. Surgery may be required in the future if lameness persists. Monitor lameness. Nutraceuticals may help with mobility and lameness.
