About Nelson
Meet Nelson!
This lovely young guy has ended up at the shelter after being found as a stray. Since we don't know his history, let us tell you what we know about him so far.
Nelson has a sweet temperament & is a very affectionate boy, but he can, at times feel a bit shy. It seems as though he has not seen much of the world & therefore is looking for a new family who will understand that he sometimes needs to take things slow & be given choice. This can help build confidence in animals who may feel overwhelmed by new environments & situations.
Being a working breed mix, he will thrive with regular exercise for both his body AND brain! These working dogs just love to be busy & they need to have the opportunity to drain that excess energy & use their brilliant brains. Daily walks, playtime, training sessions, agility, games, scent work, trick training, sniffaris & food puzzles are all highly beneficial in providing enrichment to your dog.
Nelson LOVES ball games & will happily bring the ball back for another throw. He may also be able to co-habit with another canine companion as he has enjoyed the company of other dogs here at the shelter. A Meet & Greet prior to adoption would be needed to ensure that they can be mates.
Secure fencing & a high quality diet are required to keep him happy, healthy & safe.
Nelson might be a dog who needs a bit of time to really come out of his shell but if he finds that family who will provide him with the safety, reassurance & love that he needs, then he will return that love tenfold & make an awesome friend for life.
