About Duey
Duey is the biggest softie in his litter of three.
He spends his days playing with his siblings. If he picks up a toy, it becomes everyone's toy as his siblings like to play with whatever he has with him. He likes playing with ropes and squeaky toys.
He is interested in his foster carer's own adult dog. He approaches her but she doesn't seem too interested.
Duey is slightly wary of his foster carer's own cat. The good news is he doesn't chase them, so he could probably live with a friendly cat given time and slow introduction.
He is playful, although the laziest in the litter. He likes playing wrestling with people, but also very cuddley. On his first night with his foster carers, he fell asleep in his foster mum's arms. If you hold him, he will relax and just enjoy the snuggles.
His foster family has two children, the youngest being 9 years old. Duey gets along with them, and likes to run around the yard with the kids when they get home from school.
Duey hasn't been digging in the yard, although he has started discovering the use of his teeth. He and his siblings are starting to nip and chew the way puppies do, and not in aggression. He sleeps through the night, and already know how to use pee pads.
No sign of food aggression has been observed. Duey is the slowest eater, so his siblings always try to steal food from him. It doesn't seem to make a dent as he is still the stockiest among his siblings.
Want to know more about how you teach a pup to be a great dog? I'd like to do training every day so that I learn the commands of sit, stay, come, down, no, stop and leave it. And once I've learnt them, I need to keep practicing them every day too. That way I'll learn to obey what you tell me to do. Being consistent and clear with your boundaries will mean I always know the right way to behave. Getting out to exercise at least once a day (and twice for working dog breeds) is vital to stimulate my brain and body. It creates important opportunities for me to meet strangers, other dogs and other animals, plus it tires me out! Tell me ""no"" if I'm chewing something I shouldn't and give me a chew toy instead. I'd love to have a range of chew toys that you can swap around so I don't get bored with them.
