About Sadie - 1 Year Old Border Collie (Trial)
Are you looking for a cuddle bug, therapy dog, constant companion!? Meet lovable Sadie!
Sadie is a 1 year old short haired Border Collie girl who is a little nervous but enjoying learning through new experiences and training. Sadie would love a family who can continue nurturing her sweet nature and helping her gain confidence through patience, love and taking the lead showing her the world through the safety of rules and boundaries.
A bit about Sadie:
- Exceptionally loving and loyal and cuddly to her humans
- Gentle around children although as always supervision is encouraged as she will jump up when excited
- she loves to go for a car ride but needs to be restrained or she will prefer to sit shotgun in the front with you ??
- She enjoys a regular walk but does not need to be a running partner or anything excessive!
- Sadie will try most foods you offer her and is currently eating a mix of dry kibble and fresh meat. She takes food extremely gently from your hand.
- Sadie is coming out of her shell and experimenting with how to play with toys! She has not quite got the idea of fetch yet but enjoys chasing the ball sometimes!
- Whilst Sadie is currently learning to co-exist in a multi dog household, this is stressful for her a lot of the time and she would prefer to be the only dog so she can relax and not feel the need to resource guard things of great importance to her like her humans attention, and food.
She can be selective around some dogs and appears to feel safer with low energy dogs whose calm temperament she can feed off. She may not be suitable for overwhelming places with a lot of dogs such as dog parks or dog beaches.
- Sadie needs to sleep inside and her preference is always to be close to her humans, she would fret if left outside.
- Sadie is fine with full time workers and is housetrained so can be left with access inside.
- Sadie is desexed, and up to date with flea, tick and worm medication.
Please note, preference will be given to applicants with Border Collie experience due to her instinctual nipping type of play.
Sadie's adoption fee is $600 and covers vaccination, desexing, microchipping, flea and worm treatment to date. Sadie is in care in the Lake Macquarie area. If you are interested in knowing more about Sadie, please email her foster carer Bec at becsnewemail@yahoo.com.au.
