ABOUT
Poor little Sloane had a rough start to life thanks to awful humans. She was senselessly thrown out of a car when she was only about 6 weeks old, but thankfully she was rescued by a good Samaritan and she then joined BFF.
Sloane had some injuries from this incident, mainly with one of her front legs and one of her back legs. The issues with her front leg we believed to be caused by nerve damage, but being so small it was hard to determine if the issues with her back leg were caused by nerve damage, broken bones, or both. She had regular vet visits for several months while we hoped she would regain the use of her legs. Pretty quickly she regained about 90% use of her front leg, but her back leg continued to be an issue – she was in a holding pattern for a few months while we continued to wait to see what would happen, but after a few month a specialist determined that she was starting to decline, and that unfortunately amputation of her back leg was her best option of a pain free life.
Sloane has now had the surgery to amputate her back leg, and she has recovered like a champion. She runs around the house like a little Rabbit that’s had too much red cordial – she’s quite amusing to watch. She doesn’t really climb anymore and is more of a ground dwelling cat, but does love to play.
Due to her horrific start to life, Sloane had a deep mistrust of humans, and honestly, who can blame her. She isn’t a snuggler, but she does love attention, and when you pat her, her huge purr will emerge and will totally melt your heart. She's a very small girl at just over 2kg, and is unlikely to grow into a large cat.
Sloane is looking for the perfect family who will love her for her, and will promise to cherish her for the rest of her life – she’s a little quirky, and she gives the best stares where you are sure she’s judging you, but she really is just a little sweetheart wanting love.
