About Freya
Beautiful Freya has been through so much in her life. She has been homeless, had a stint in the pound, almost lost her life through several back to back pregnancies, been rescued and nursed back to health. That’s when her troubles should have been over but sadly, this wasn’t the case.
Freya was adopted and unfortunately, the next day, her new owner went for a drive with her not restrained in the car. The windows were down, and Freya got a fright, jumped out the window and disappeared. Unfortunately, we were not notified until several days later and by then, Freya was terrified and hiding in bushland. Despite the best efforts of ourselves and the local area, Freya was nowhere to be found.
Fast forward exactly 3 months and we received a call from a vet. Freya had been found, hit by a car and unable to walk. Shockingly, this was not her biggest battle.
As the hours ticked by, Freya became increasingly weaker, leading the vet to believe that something else was going on and we were stunned to find out that she actually also had tick paralysis as her flea and tick prevention had worn off.
Although things were touch and go initially, Freya soon rallied, and she was soon safely back in our care. To say that this girl is a walking miracle is an understatement!
Freya is an incredibly loyal and loving girl and whoever gets to share their life with her will wonder how they ever lived without her.
Freya adores puppies and small breed dogs. She is good with larger dogs once she gets to know them, but she can be a bit intimidated by them at first.
Freya has been great with the children she has met and is very gentle.
Freya can be scared by unfamiliar places and pieces. This is totally understandable given the awful life she has had but with someone she trusts beside her, she quickly gets over her fear.
Due to her past, we would like Freya to be in a home with 6ft fences. She does prefer to be an inside dog so having humans who understand that she is part of the family is important.
Freya is the sweetest girl, and she will quickly bond to her new family. She would do best with someone who was home more often than not and who wants a companion.
Freya is so loving and thinks she is a lapdog at times. She is so devoted and loyal and she will make your house a home.
If you have the time and love to give to a special dog, please consider Freya. She deserves the best!
