About Hopkins
AVAILABLE NOW
!Long-termer alert!
Oh Hopkins, you dashing delight. This gorgeous glossy house panther is perfect for true connoisseurs of black cats, those who appreciate having a shadow to follow them around.
Hopkins is now 8 months old and has been in our care since he was roughly 14 weeks, so it's more than half his life. And he was a homeless waif on the streets of Kulin before that, so Hopkins has never actually had a home of his own.
But we know that's all about to change, thanks to you!!
Hopkins is a BIG boy, towering over his many kitty friends - but he's gentle and friendly with them all.
While he does get on just fine with many other cats, Hopkins can be a bit of an introvert. He's not a particularly playful kitty, preferring to sit back and watch the world go by. So if you have a cat looking for a playmate he may not suit but if just looking for a calm couch hang-out buddy then he's your man!
Hopkins is an affectionate, smoochy boy who likes to really lean his weight into your legs as he rubs against them; but, in keeping with his broader personality, he tends to take things slow with new people so he will hang back and check you out from a distance before showing you his lovable side.
Hopkins is not fussed by the dog he has met. He's used to having a young child around and is gentle but tends to keep some distance, so he's best suited to bigger kids or adults.
One thing to mention is that Hopkins LOVES food. You don't grow this big without being fond of snacks 😊
He recently found an empty cat food can that had unfortunately been left out in the enclosure and he was unfortunate enough to get his head stuck in it in his efforts to lick the bottom! Luckily he wasn't stuck there for long but he didn't learn any lesson as he still tries to get his head in any can that he sees.
As a kitten when he arrived, Hopkins was very sick with cat flu. He's made a great recovery from this but his new family does need to be aware that some cats who have cat flu as youngsters, can go on to have some health conditions later in life associated with this
We're happy to share more info with potential adopters and hope that this fact doesn't put you off of this really gorgeous boy.
Hopkins is desexed, microchipped and vaccinated.
As a long-termer kitty, he's available to adopt for the donation of your choice!
