Meet the very adorable Mr Roan!

How could you not fall in love with that gorgeous face? Roan is such a handsome pup with his shiny black coat and striking white markings. He is a sweetheart to match. Cuddling in your lap is one of his favourite places to be. Roan was born in foster care after his mum was rescued from the pound heavily pregnant. This has meant that he has had a great upbringing with positive experiences. He has been exposed to all of the things you expect around the home like vacuum cleaners and lawn mowers. Roan has always had a good diet and been up to date on his veterinary care.

Roan loves his doggy friends, and he is very social with other dogs. He loves a good wrestling game both with other pups and adult dogs. When it’s rest time you will even find him curled up with the other dogs for a snooze. Roan would love a home with another playful and friendly dog who could show him the ropes. He can also live as an only dog as long as he had some regular playtime with other known dogs. Roan is expected to grow to a large size as his mother is about 30kg. He will need daily exercise and mental stimulation to keep him healthy and happy throughout his life.

While in foster care, Roan has kick started his basic training. He knows how to sit and shake, and he goes to his bed on command. Roan has been crate trained where he settles well and sleeps overnight without a peep. He is learning to walk nicely on a lead and is getting better with encouragement when unsure. His new owners will need to be committed to continuing his training and positive socialisation experiences to help him grow up to be a happy and well-behaved adult dog.

We are looking for a loving home for Roan with owners who have experience training medium to large sized dogs. He should be allowed inside to be with the family and will need a warm comfy bed inside to sleep on at night. Roan can live with dog savvy children and is young enough to learn how to live with other types of pets with the appropriate training and guidance. This gorgeous boy is a fun pup, ready to find his forever family and get started on the rest of his life – all he needs is you!
