About Wheatley
Hi, I'm wacky wonderful one-eyed Wheatley.
I arrived at the Animal Welfare League Veterinary Clinic severely emaciated and sickly as a homeless young man. Can you believe I was less than 7kg as a 1year old boy!
I can be initially quite shy and timid, so I'm looking for a home that will help me gain even more confidence and continue my training and socialization as even a lead and collar are totally new, and scary, for me.
When I'm with my favourite people I take treats and give nice licks. I enjoy the company of people and other dogs make me really excited and come out of my shell, so I may be a great friend for your social canine.
I've thoroughly enjoyed having a yard space to claim as my own, it doesn't need to be huge but the feeling of freedom and grass under my feet is super important to me.
My preferred home will be with children 16 years and over (experienced or have an understanding of quiet/timid dogs), no cats/pocket pets, and hopefully another calm, patient dog that will help teach me the ways of the world and further build my confidence.
Do you have space in your heart and home to help me learn about the world and flourish into a confident doggo?
Note: This dog is currently being cared for in a home and when adopted, it will free up a spot to help another dog.
