Boss - 1 Year Old Cattle Dog X (Hold)

15 month old Boss is a black and tan cattle dog mix, looking for love. Boss loves to play ball and he is excellent at fetch returning the ball to you every time. He is very affectionate and eager to please.

Boss came into foster care a blank canvas, not knowing much about anything, we are working on basics and he is smashing the loose leash walk and sitting. Other basic skills we are learning include stay, place training, not jumping and more. He is picking up on training quickly. He is food driven but will also accept cuddles and praise as a reward.

Boss is super content in his own space, showing no signs of separation anxiety or wanting to escape. Being a blank canvas, he has been underexposed and is a bit nervous about some new things, like cars and meeting other dogs, but we are working with him to build his confidence and exposure. Teaching him these skills we will keep him safe and that there is not much to be afraid of.

Boss is a happy boy, who would benefit from daily walks. As he has no issues with separation anxiety a full time worker would make a fine companion for boss. Even a family as boss has shown good interest in kids, a quick hello but not jumping up or being overly excited around them. He is not an excessive barker, and really only lets you know when something is amiss. Boss is not yet toilet trained and his new family would need to work on this. He currently sleeps in a crate with the door open so he can come and go as he pleases.

As Boss is still nervous and learning about the world an only dog home to start with would be preferred. That’s not to say he could never have a doggy companion; he just need time to work on his confidence first. Boss is ready and patiently waiting for his perfect forever home.
