Hi, I’m Hunter!
I’m looking for my forever home to spend the best part of my life in. I’m an older gent now but I still have lots of love to give and life to live.
When I first came into the facility I weighed almost 80kgs. I’m now at a healthy 62kgs and won’t need to lose much more weight. My carers have been making sure I get exercise and well portioned food so I can become a healthy weight again.
I really love going on walks and I am great on the lead. I hardly ever pull, and I even like running too! I’m a little slow and my limbs aren’t as strong as they used to be, but that doesn’t stop me playing fetch or doing little zoomies. I love toys, balls are my favourite. I’m not great at giving them back but you can always swap it out for another toy.
I like pats but I’m not overly affectionate. I’m more independent but would love to sit with my family when they’re watching tv, just to hang out.
I have met other dogs here at the facility but don’t enjoy their company. I would like to be the only pet at home. I’d be open to meeting teenage children who won’t fuss over me too much.
If you can give me, a big old softie a home, you won’t regret it.
Adoption details
Please remember that the pets we have available sometimes come to us with no history, so we do our very best to get to know them while they are here and to match them to your home. Sometimes animals behave differently outside of the shelter environment, so please do keep in touch after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
