About Toohey
Toohey is one of the nicest dogs you'll ever meet. She has such a beautiful and sweet nature and oozes charm! Toohey absolutely adores people and other dogs, but she's best matched with kids 10 years and up. She's super intelligent but unfortunately she is deaf, so while certainly not impossible to train her, it doesn't come without its challenges! Her ideal canine companion would be a medium-large male dog, as she can be a little too dominant for small dogs and female dogs. She doesn't have a mean bone in her body, however being deaf she can sometimes miss the social cues of other dogs so best with a dog that can tolerate her exuberance!
Toohey gets very distressed when she is alone without human or canine company, so if you work away from home a companion dog is essential for Toohey. With buddies by her side she's very happy to spend the day outside in the yard when required, patiently awaiting your return for kisses and cuddles. Toohey walks well on harness.
Toohey hadn't spent much time (if any) inside a home during her first 6 months of life so she's still learning house manners like not jumping onto the couch un-invited and not counter-surfing! She has a very dainty build and is learning to navigate floorboards and other slippery surfaces; at times it's like watching Bambi on ice!
