About Daisy
Do you ever think to yourself, “You know, I have always wanted my own Shadow”? I can fix that! I LOVE my special person and want to be as close to them as possible, almost all of the time.
My name is Daisy and I am a Miniature Poodle who is 1 year and 2 months old and I am currently 3kgs
I am came into care because my elderly human passed away – I was very loved but I was not really socialized with a lot of people and my home was a very quiet home so noises and meeting new people can be scary. If you can give me some time to settle I really do blossom and you will have a friend for life.
I am looking for a home where my humans will continue to work on my confidence, I am very nervous meeting new people and need to be allowed to come to them at my own speed.
Another dog being in the home will also help me settle and show me that humans are okay. I have not been abused I had just not many people at my old home so meeting new people can be overwhelming.
I’m sweet and snuggly, funny and lively. I’m also terrific company, happy to lie quietly at your feet while you work or in your lap while we Netflix and chill.
I’m friendly with other dogs, and live with another small breed at my foster home, I would like another small breed dog to keep me company but not be overbearing or one that is not keen on sharing their humans with me.
I do enjoy playing with the other small breed dog here, zoomies and playing with toys with my foster fur sibling. Big breed dogs do make me nervous.
I do have what the vet calls some separation anxiety - So I am looking for a home where there is someone home more often than not, someone who wants a really buddy to be with and once I gain confidence and trust you, I am happy to be taken places with you as well (especially if my fur sibling is there as well – I will take my ques from her / him. Please note this does mean that for the first few weeks of being with you I will probably be clingy to you (like accompany you the toilet clingy) but as I get comfy this will drop off.
I’m toilet trained and can happily go outside to the ladies or on a pee pad if needed.
The rescue also did a nice scale and polish on my teeth - so when I'm comfy and happy I will show you my pearly whites
I have been around kids but I would probably do better in a home with kids over 5 – just the crying and squealing of little kids will frighten me.
I am untested with cats.
I have been learning to walk on a lead since coming into care and while getting the hang of it I will see need my family to keep working on that with me.
I do have a coat that requires brushing daily and grooming every 6 – 8 weeks, so please keep this in mind when applying as it’s an ongoing expense.
I am hoping that my dream family is reading this and know that while it might be a bit bumpy for the first week or so with me being nervous that they know I am so worth it!

Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email.
