About Panda - 3 Year Old Whippet (Trial)
Are you ready for a little joy in your life?
Meet the delightfully whippet-ty Panda. Also known as Panda Bear because you can’t help but cuddle her.
Panda is a 3-year-old purebred whippet. She displays all the typical whippet traits of searching for warmth, sleeping for long hours, having no concept of personal space, and loving her humans. She is toilet-trained and has some recall and is crate trained for sleeping.
Whippets by nature are socially connected dogs. Panda loves being with her human owner as much as possible and does show some anxiety through barking when you leave. She will also greet you with a rousing welcome home upon your return. She is in the prime of her life, and as such can be active in her excitement running and playing until she’s given your 100% attention. She is still learning to stop before running into the legs of humans, therefore her perfect home would be with children over the age of 10 and those who are strong on their feet.
Panda must be an inside dog and be welcomed as part of the family. Don’t tell her, but she hasn’t realised that she’s not human, so will make herself at home in your bed, the kid’s beds, the lounge or the stool next to at the bench!
She walks well on the lead. She is wary of dogs that do not look like her but with correction continues her way. She currently lives with a lovely family of mum, dad, three older children and 5 whippets. She would love to be with a family that understands the breed and/or have another whippet or two because we all know you cannot stop at one! She will need secure fencing. While she hasn’t been noted to jump, whippets are well known to be able to scale large walls in a single bound. Panda will need appropriate space to have a daily zoomie or a game of catch. Preference will be given to families that have breed experience.
What’s a panda’s biggest life regret? She never had a selfie in colour.
What do they say about the panda who walks on her own a lot? That she’s very inde-panda-nt!
What do you call a whippet who is the cutest little ball of cuddles that you could ever imagine? PANDA of course!
To register your interest in adopting Panda you can fill out the adoption questionnaire here https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
PLEASE NOTE: When applying for our dogs and puppies, please ensure to list the name of the dog you wish to adopt. Please do NOT just list the reference number or the microchip number as this will delay your application reaching the correct foster carer.
You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au or www.petrescue.com.au
Panda is in foster care in the Lake Munmorah, NSW area. They are currently available for interstate adoption. The adoption fee is $700.00 and they are desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms and microchipped.
