About Loki
Loki
Meet our gorgeous sweetheart, the meatball chonky boof head Loki.
Loki is a stunning American Staffy built like a tank with the heart of a Angel
Sadly Lokis former owner had become seriously ill and was no longer able to keep him
Loki is not tall, well under knee height.
He’s built and ripped but has the personality of a big smoochy teddy bear so all you staffy lovers don’t miss out on our big fella
Loki has loads of love to give ❤️
PLEASE CHECK YOUR SPAM AND JUNK FOLDERS FOR YOUR APPLICATION FORM ONCE YOUR ENQUIRY HAS BEEN SENT
Favourite things
Hanging out with his humans,
Couch snoozes
Chewing bones and cow hooves
Saying hello to everyone for a belly rub
Interactions with people
Loki loves people
Wants to be everyone’s best friend especially when you give him a tummy rub and he rolls over for that often 😊
He can be a little jumpy so we are looking for a family with teenage plus as he is solid, bit like a wombat
Interaction with other animals
When on walks Loki does get excited to see other dogs and will want to go to meet them, he will use his staffy squeals of excitement
Loki has been tested on lead with a number of different size dogs and he is polite in meeting dogs, not overly dominant, lots of tail wags. He has tried to engage in play with dogs and enjoyed an off lead play with a 12 month old playful dog. He was observed to be gentle in play so we feel he would suit a female dog of similar size or larger than him. He does get a little upset by barking, boisterous or aggressive dogs so being a big strong boy we recommend he socialize with well socialized friendly familiar
dogs similar size to him just to be safe. Slow introductions on lead at first
Loki can be stubborn and will just not move till he’s ready and doesn’t seem to like particularly long walks
Independence
Loki does initially get a bit unsettled when you leave the home or if you are inside and he’s out so whoever is his new person needs to have him as a big part of the family
He does settle once outside if you are at work and he is given hooves and bones to keep him busy
Loki has not been destructive other than a bit of scratching on the door to come inside
Obedience
Loki has not had a lot of training so will benefit from someone who will be consistent and patient with him and teach him the ropes. He’s a good fella just never been taught properly. He will sit for treats and learning to sit for pats
Inside to home
This meatball gets excited when he first sees you then he will settle and cuddle with you or do his staffy stretch on the rug
Sleep
Loki sleeps inside on his mat
He is quiet inside at night
Toileting
Loki has had a few accidents inside and this is not uncommon for highly stressed dog when they have had their world turned upside down
Loki just needs to be toileted regularly
Car travel
Loki initially had to be encouraged to get in the car and needed help to get his big butt into the car. He has now learnt car rides are fun. Once he is in the car he travels well, no barking.
Hygiene and grooming
Easy to care for coat
Loves a good scratch
Some supervision around toileting to be expected, a doggy door would be ideal
Food
Loki is being fed dry food twice a day.
Walking and exercise
Well !! he don’t like to walk to much!!
He’s a bit of a lazy butt in this area lol
Loki can be strong on the lead and can be very stubborn if he doesn’t want to walk!!! so he will need someone that can handle his strength on lead
If he sees another dog he will want to say hello. He is fine as long as dogs are not reactive to him.
Ideal home
Loki will only be rehomed with someone experienced with staffy breeds or large dog breeds
He is a strong boy so owner must be robust
A home where he is part of the family inside
Teenagers and up just due to his size, may knock small children over
No apartment living
Large well socialized FEMALE dog for company if possible
A family commitment to training this amazing boy
