Strudel is a 4 kilogram chihuahua/miniature fox terrier who has the typical big personality traits of both breeds in equal measure. She’s alert, lively and on guard much of the time, quite confident and also very gentle and smoochy. She loves her walks but is reactive and barks at other dogs and any sounds or sights that are unfamiliar. So not great on the lead.

She wees wherever she likes, including inside despite being able to use the dog door easily. She mostly rushes out of her door to bark at real or imagined threats and not to toilet! She wants to be with you all of the time and has separation anxiety. She would prefer to be an only dog.

She would suit someone who can have her with them most of the time and will not put up with her nonsense, but can continue her training. She has been responding well to training strategies using high quality treats. Her new owner would need to be fit and active and able to keep up with her energy levels, not be prone to tripping over her and be able to play with her. She loves playing ‘pulling at a rope’ games.

She has been living companionably with cats but will chase them if they run but would not hurt them. She’s sometimes wary but generally friendly towards strangers and children.

Strudel is a ripper little dog who is very gentle, super affectionate and loves nothing more than to do what you’re doing, go where you’re going, then sit on your knee to sleep and cuddle including under the bed covers at night if you’ll let her. She is a happy, loving, busy, nosy, little girl.

Needs:
Owner to be home most of the time or have Strudel with them
Only dog preferred
Inside dog
Continue her training in toileting, controlling her reactivity while on the lead and separation anxiety.
Ok with children who understand dogs
