Jensen - 5 Year Old Greyhound

Jensen is a handsome and affectionate 5yo Greyhound. He loves spending time with people and would love to have an individual or couple who would take him out for runs, walks or outdoor adventures. Greyhounds don’t need hours of exercise. They are great couch potatoes. Just a normal outing once a day then they’re happy to relax at home.

Jensen loves getting cuddles from the humans, he loves his ear rubs and butt scratches. He will “chatter” his teeth as a show of enjoyment.

Jensen loves to play. He has a variety of fun squeaky, crinkly, and cuddly toys he will keep himself entertained with at home. He has a special stuffed teddy bear he likes to use as a pillow and cuddle with at bedtime.

Jensen loves a good tv watch. His favourite shows to watch are dash-cams Australia and The Mandalorian which have his full attention when on.

Jensen enjoys a quick “zoomie” run around the backyard. He gets excited when the lead comes out and will pull at the beginning from all the anticipation but after a few minutes he relaxes and is very behaved.

He loves a car ride. He likes to stick his head out the window and sniff the fresh air. He will lay down in the car after his outing is over.

Jensen loves his food. He will take treats gently from your hand and allow you to take his food bowl away once he has finished eating. Jensen will need to be left alone to eat his food as he can become protective and resource guard.

Jensen will need to be with an individual, couple or family who won’t leave him home alone for hours on end. He really benefits from human love and affection so will need a family who is home often.

When he is not playing, he is sleeping. Provided he gets his daily walk or outing, he is happy to sleep nearby his humans for the rest of the day. He likes to alternate between sleeping on a dog bed indoors to sunbaking on an outdoor dog bed during the day. He sleeps on a dog bed in the loungeroom at night.

Jensen does experience the occasional sleep startle and needs to be left alone whilst he is in a deep sleep or placed in a quiet part of the home where he can sleep peacefully.

Like most Greyhounds, Jensen does have a prey drive towards cats, birds, and anything small, squeaky, and fluffy. He will need to be kept on leash during walks and go to a home with no other pets.

When Jensen becomes very excited seeing his humans return home; he can try to jump up on you for cuddles but settles down after a few pats. He is a big sweetheart who can forget his size so he will need to go a home with adults who can handle his size.

Jensen is in foster care in Raymond Terrace, NSW 2324. He is available for adoption in NSW, ACT, VIC and QLD. His adoption fee is $350, and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms and microchipped
