About Charli
Little Chali is now looking for a home to call her own. Could this pile of cuteness call your house “home”?
Charli came into foster care a couple of weeks ago and did not have the first clue about how to behave in a domestic setting. Her foster ma and pa have begun teaching her all the basic manners and this smart little cookie has been picking it all up very quickly.
She has learnt to wear a collar, walk on a lead and she enjoys going on daily walks with her foster siblings. She has begun crate training and will happily sleep all night in her crate. Every now and then she will cry or call to be let out in the middle of the night where she will run to the back door to go out and do her business.
Her toilet training is progressing well and she’s starting to learn that when she feels the urge it’s outside she must go! But being a young pup, she still has a little way to go and will have the odd slip up from time to time if you miss her cues. Ongoing patience and positive reinforcement will be needed in this space.
Charli is presently living with 3 older doggy foster siblings who are also teaching her how to behave in the domestic setting and are teaching her doggy-to-doggy etiquette. She has just begun socializing down at the local dog park with other dogs and greets all potential playmates enthusiastically, but with respect. She is a social girl who will need another youthful, playful pup not only to keep her entertained – but to keep her in her place if she gets too carried away.
Charli has met and interacted with the three resident cats in her foster home and is very respectful of them. She will greet them keenly but will quickly move onto something else that she finds more interesting. She has also met the resident chooks, however her keenness to play with them did her no favours!
Charli is a smart and enthusiastic pup with a lot of energy to burn. Her ideal home would have kids and another energetic dog with whom she can play with for hours. She can be somewhat boisterous and gets carried away at times, so a home with kids 5 and over would be best. She would not be suited to a home that has no other pets, or where she would be left on her own more often than not. She can be destructive and become distressed when left on her own for long periods.
Charli is a young pup and whilst she’s quickly picking up the basics, her new family will need to be prepared to put in the time and effort to ensure that she continues to blossom and become the great family dog that we know she has all the potential to be.
If you feel that Charli would be a good fit for your home, and that you can provide her with all the love, training and support that this little pup needs, feel free to submit an application and who knows! You might just be lucky enough to win a meet and greet with this little pile of cuteness!
Medical notes
Charli has been vet checked, microchipped, and had flea and worm treatment. She has had her first vaccination and will be due for a booster in a few weeks.
Charli is currently too young to desexed, she will be required to attend one of our approved vets at 6 months of age to have this done.
All remaining vet work is covered by the adoption fee and must take place at one of our approved vets
