Calais

Calais is an athletic and alert young dog who is full of the joys of life! She is a friendly girl who loves the company of both humans and other dogs, and loves to be kept busy. Her favourite thing in life is playing, whether that be chasing a ball or running around with a doggy friend.

Calais is doing well at learning to walk on lead but does get distracted. She travels nicely in the car, is crate trained, has good recall, drops, has mastered sit and poses beautifully for the camera! Calais will need her training to continue so that she can become the best companion dog she can be, and can channel her energy and her busy brain into positive activities. She is eager to please, so she will really enjoy the opportunity to bond with her special person through some obedience training. Regardless of whether she attends formal training, she will need to have clear and consistent boundaries set in her new home so that she understands what is expected of her.

Calais bonds very closely with her humans and she will do best if she can be with them as much as possible in her new home and can participate in their lives on a daily basis. She would also prefer to live with an active and confident canine friend who can be her playmate and companion, and who can model the good behaviour that is expected of her. That being said, her play style may be too much for very small or very old dogs. Calais will probably not cope well if she is left alone or confined during the day.

As Calais is an active and excitable young dog, she is probably not suitable to live with smaller children simply because she may unintentionally knock them over with her enthusiasm, but she loves kids and would love to live with bigger kids who can give her the love and companionship she craves. She is not suitable to live with cats, birds or pocket pets.

Calais is now looking for her own special person or family who will enjoy her zest for life. If you think you could offer Calais the home she dreams of, she would love to meet you!
