Hugo

Hugo is a big boy with a big personality!

He loves to play more than anything in the world and is always looking for an opportunity to run and play around with his handlers.
He is happy and content to be on his own indoors, snuggling up on his bed when the weather is bad!

Hugo had quite substantial behaviour issues when he came to us at the shelter and would require a new owner with good knowledge about his breed and their quirks. He was very scared and anxious and took a good while to open up to us but once he did he quickly became a very popular and loving young pooch. While he is now very affectionate with people he is comfortable with, he does er on the side of caution when meeting some new people.

Hugo is very strong, and has not yet mastered walking on the lead so he will need somebody who is physically able and also confident enough to correct him when needed.
Hugo would require an experienced dog owner with ample to time to put into his continued development. He will need a calm and safe home environment to help grow his good natured self, free from fear and anxiety. He is a very special dog who needs just the right person to be his forever owner.

We are optimistic that Hugo will find his perfect match and really reward that person with the fantastic dog that he is growing into.

While Hugo is quite social and is good when meeting new dogs, we don't think it would be best for him to enter a household with any existing pets at this stage.
