About Nibbler (Located in Lynbrook)
Hi there, I’m Nibbler, Nibs for short.
For the past 7 years, life had been pretty sweet. It was just me and my mum doing our thing. She loved me, gave me all the attention and more importantly, all the treats! Life was good.
But as the years went by, slowly mum couldn’t look after us by herself anymore. Mum needed help which saw us both move in to live with her son and his family. It was no longer just mum and I and that’s when my world began to crumble. I was faced with so many new and scary challenges.
First it was the new home and new family. They had these mini people who were loud and ran around a lot, they were very different to the quiet mum and I were used to. But the cherry on the cake was my arch nemesis, I called her ‘You’…. This was her house and she didn’t like to share! We often fought about it with both of us leaving with a few battle scars.
I was so stressed; life was falling apart and there was nothing I could do. I became grumpy and withdrawn, licking my fur as comfort which has stained my white paws brown. This new lifestyle and I did not work and sadly, mum didn’t know what to do. We were guests in this new home and a decision was made to end the stress and suffering for all….
I was taken to the vet to be given ‘the green dream’…
Now I don’t quite know what this is but I was listening to the vet and mum and watched as tears streamed down her face. I didn’t mean to make her so sad. The vet and her ended up signing some papers and then, mum left. I haven’t seen her since.
I was taken into the vet hospital and given my own room. The nurses dote over me, bringing me treats and toys (one even snuck in some catnip!). I’ve been really happy here! I am the centre of attention and have come out of my shell, showing my sassy side. I like head boops and scratches and enjoy rubbing against their legs and following them around the clinic. I feel myself again. Sometimes with all the excitement, I get a little over stimulated and can’t help myself but to roll and show off my belly and play bite. That’s how I got the name Nibbler! But don’t worry, I’m super gentle I just get excited by all the love!
So this is where my story pauses… I’m in limbo awaiting my new home as I can’t live at the vet clinic forever. I’m looking for a place to call my own with no other cats and with cat savy pawrents. A girl’s gotta relax and nap too you know so as much as I’m happy to love and be loved, I’d like some time to myself too! I love to play with toys and am not camera shy, just don’t try and pick me up for too long, a girl’s got things to do and I aint nobody’s toy. I’m a super ‘meow’del who loves to strut her stuff on the catwalk and work it for food!
Could I be your next top meowdel?
