About Jacko
Jacko, a purebred chocolate and tan Mini Dachshund, was bought as a puppy from a breeder, by an elderly lady, as a companion for her other dog. Unfortunately, the owner found having two young dachshunds too much for her, and has decided to surrender Jacko to us.
He is a busy boy who just loves life and everything in it! He is a super friendly young dog to every other dog and every human he meets. He is really playful and encourages all the other dogs in my home to ‘come on and play’ many times during the day. Playtime is interspersed with some snoozing on whichever doggie bed he feels like.
Jacko sleeps soundly through the night. He is now almost completely toilet trained, having mastered the doggie door to come and go as he pleases.
He adores his daily walks on leash, although pulls hard to begin with, he settles well after we’ve been walking a while.
Likewise, he travels well in the car, after an initial whiny period.
In his previous home he was known to bark when left outside, but since being able to come indoors as he wishes, I haven’t noticed this at all.
His forever home needs to be an active one where he is very much one of the family. He needs someone to be home the majority of the time to continue with his training to be the best dog he can be.
Another dog would be a plus for him to play with.
PLEASE NOTE - our location is Moree, northern NSW and if you are successful in adopting Jacko you must be prepared to drive to collect him.
In your enquiry please give as much information as possible as to why you think you may be a good fit for him, and answer the following questions.
1) Is everyone in your household happy and ready to adopt Jacko?
2)Are you willing to drive to Moree?
3) How long would he be alone during the day if at all?
4) Do you have Landlords permission for a small dog, if needed?
