Nova is a 13kg bundle of fun and games! She is 18months old and as eager for love as any puppy, but toilet trained!
She is a full size dachshund cross kelpie, boasting the best qualities of each breed: affection of a dachshund, energy of a kelpie. Because she is extremely intelligent, her fosters have had to ensure all dog food (and human food) is safely out of sight. She is partial to the occasional abandoned cold cup of tea.

She loves dog parks and endless games of tug or war or fetch, sometimes confusing the rules a bit. She absolutely loves to run and particularly enjoys chasing new canine friends around the dog parks, the bigger the dog/park, the better! She also loves making new human friends and has shown excellent social behaviour towards other dogs and small children. Her feelings towards cats and other pets is unknown.

Nova only barks when there is a knock on the door or a commotion already in progress, joining blissfully in with other barking dogs. She is rarely the instigator.

Nova does have some separation anxiety, attributed to her young age. She has not however exhibited any destructive behaviour, with the exception of unsuspecting soft toys. Generally as long as she has company (canine or human), she settles eventually. Given her streamlined muscular build and athletic ability, high secure fences are a requirement.

Providing she is walked regularly with regular dog park visits, and plenty of snacks, she asks for very little. She is a snuggle bunny cross energiser bunny who will need an active owner/family, who can help her build a routine and learn some manners (her enthusiasm for new friends or food sometimes get the better of her).

Surrendered due to the rental crisis, rather than any behaviour or health concern, Nova is an extremely social dog looking for her furever family.

Nova’s owner has had her since a puppy, she has a very small part of Kelpie in her, however her appearance is all dachshund!

De sexed, microchipped, house trained, fully vaccinated inc of Heart worm annual, fully vet checked as per our policy with no health issues.
