Loki

If you've ever seen the movie Snow Dogs (Cuba Gooding Jr with 7 Siberian Huskies), Loki would have fit right in with that pack. He is a big, beautiful, intelligent boy who loves to cuddle.  Dog, cat and kid friendly: Currently living with another big dog and a cat, he has also lived with children aged 5-10.  He's quite 'talkative', like most Husky/Malamutes, but is not a nuisance barker or howler--he just likes to have a chat, and will even Talk' on command.  His owner added 'stubborn and inquisitive' to his descriptors.

When bored or under-stimulated, Loki can demonstrate some destructive and unwanted behaviours:  He will chew (his beds), do a bit of landscaping in the garden, and 'mark' territory both inside and out. Although he's not jumped any fences to date, when his owner tethered him in the front yard he managed to work himself out of his harness and go for a bit of an un-chaperoned 'explore'.

Loki has no 'food aggression', but has shown some resource guarding around bones to other dogs. He's also very partial to any kind of seafood.

While dog friendly, Loki is lacking doggy etiquette, and can be  a 'bully' with some other dogs. As he is a big, powerful boy, currently with NO recall, he will need training.  Despite this, both of our trainers agree that Loki's destructive tendencies are most likely due to boredom/lack of exercise, AND that he has a great deal of potential. If you're prepared to put some time into his training, and 'include him', Loki would suit an active/energetic household.
