About Rebel Maddison
TO APPLY FOR ADOPTION PLEASE SEND IN APPLICATION FORM AVAILABLE BELOW:

Rebel is a delightful companion who has captured the heart of his foster care. Smart, friendly and trainable, Rebel is great with people, particularly when he gets to know them. This boy is housetrained, knows how to sit and go to his bed, and sleeps beautifully through the night in his own room. Rebel is calm when left home inside alone for a few hours while his person is out for work or recreation.
Rebel loves his two modest walks a day and enjoys stretching his paws and shuffling the autumn leaves. Rebel also enjoys home calisthenics, with occasional bouts of zoomies through the house. When out and about, he can be fearful with other dogs, particularly if they are off leash, so he is not a candidate for off leash dog parks. True to breed and lockdown experience, Rebel barks from time to time in response to neighbourhood noises and when traveling in the car. While he adores his people, Rebel can be sensitive to handling by those he doesn’t know, including the vet, and requires some encouragement. Rebel’s carer has been working with our trainers to a training plan that is helping him reduce his reactivity. Given his intelligence and desire to engage with his people, consistent ongoing training in his forever home will help Rebel and his people bond, while improving some of these behaviours.
Rebel will do best in an adult only home where he is the only pet and, given his size, preferably a no stairs environment. While he prefers time with his family, Rebel will be okay in a situation where humans are out for some of the day, provided his routines and needs are met. Rebel is a champion and deserves a great landing. Are you ready to help him find his cause?
Please note: our dogs are not available for interstate adoption. We also do not adopt to people under the age of 25 years.

All our dogs are desexed, C5 vaccinated with intranasal, microchipped, wormed, and flea treated. All necessary vetwork such as dentals, surgery, eye treatment are also carried out. We are no longer heartworm testing as we have not had one positive test since we began in 2006. If a dog comes to us on heartworm treatment this is continued.
Medical notes
Weight: 6kg
Health: Rebel has had major surgery on his leg and lots of physio/hydro.
Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer free assistance for six weeks for any issues, a lifetime takeback policy with full refund of the adoption fee, and will always be available to offer advice.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.

Please note that we do not take/make telephone calls prior to receiving an application.
Commonly asked questions and their answers are provided when you email us. Unfortunately we usually will not have time to reply to enquiries in more detail and will give priority to completed applications over enquiries. Priority will also be given to typed applications which are easier for us to read and to copy relevant parts.
We look forward to receiving your application.
