About Jayla
If you are interested in Jayla, or any of our Greyhounds, we require you to fill in our application form - https://forms.gle/w1iDu99Rx4PpvG7e7
Jayla came into foster care when she was only 1year and 4 months old due to her not coping in the racing industry. She arrived as a very anxious and timid girl, afraid of the world and humans.
The moment she arrived, I (foster carer) could also see a curious puppy that is lingering behind her timidness and in just a week she transformed into this amazing young girl! Jayla gets so excited now and really aims to please. It is adorable to see her personality come out in her new trusted environment.
Because she is still so young, she is learning everything new at the moment, from walkies to obedience, but it has been so helpful to have 3 other greyhounds around that gave her confidence and courage!
Now that she trusts humans a bit more, she loves to cuddle and always tries to snuggle into you. She has discovered the couch and the bed and if it was up to her, she would stay there all day long.
Jayla has conquered her fear and is now looking forward to her walkies with the girls, loud sounds do scare her a bit still, but she loves to sniff and explore!
Jayla is one of a kind and would suit an adopter with a resident dog that can tolerate her puppy goofiness and can help her grow up in a trusted environment. She would benefit from a yard where she can toilet, because she isn't quite confident enough to do her business during walks! She has never had one toilet accident inside!
She copes well with a few hours alone with her buddies, whimpers a little when being left, but soon settles to sleep.
Anyone who meets Jayla will fall in love with her! She just needs a minute to gain the trust, but once you have it she will be ALL OVER you :)
PS: If you are keen to adopt a pair of greyhounds, her foster sister Dimi (5y) is also up for adoption and they get on so well!
At Homeward Bound Hounds, we pride ourselves on matching the right dog to the right family. We need to know more about you and your home to find the best possible match.
