About Lucy
Hi I’m Lucy, I am a gorgeous 2 year and nearly 2 month old Maltese x Pomeranian
I’m on the hunt for my forever home where the people will love me like I love them.
My foster mum says I have to be up front and tell you my quirks first so that if I don’t suit your home / lifestyle you won’t need to keep reading my bio.
I am a fun young girl who just loves life I wake up as a positive happy full of life girl and stay that way all day until it’s bed time and then I like to sleep and repeat the next day.
I am looking for a family that will love my energy levels and my love for life.
Cause I love life and my humans I am looking for someone who works from home, shift work, retired, doesn’t work etc etc yep a family where someone is home more often than not or at least one person home at a time.
I love having skin kids in the home, I love to play chase with them and play ball with them, chew toys / play with toys, and I love to go for walks with my family and outings. I love being outside with the kids when they play and do their thing and love to explore as well.
I am great in the car – okay yeah I usually just nap but I’m happy to accompany when you pick kids up from school.
While I am currently living with other dogs I am very bossy and like to be in charge – so I’m either looking for a home with no other dog or a home where I can be the boss (my foster mum says I do better with a male dog then another female if there was one at the house). I have also been known to try and boss the dogs next door thru the fence but usually a quick reminder that I should have manners fixes that.
I also love to try and see how stressed I can make my foster mum by jumping off the top of the couch when I’m in a hurry – my foster mum has been working on this but she says it’s definitely a job in progress.
I do jump up on the bed all by myself and love to sleep at my human’s feet.
I am toilet trained
I am a very good eater my foster mum says – she says if you’re looking for me just hold up a piece of food and I will be there like the Flash!
I have not been around cats and my foster family thinks it could go either way – if they run I might chase them.
If you think you could make me part of your family & are interested in applying to adopt me, please send thru an adoption application.
** Please note applications will close Friday 5th May 2023 at 5.30pm

Adoption details
Paw Prints Canine Rescue is a non for profit dog rescue located in Southeast Queensland.
All our dogs leave our care with full vet work (up-to-date vaccinated, microchipped, desexed, heart worm and intestinal wormed and flea treated).
Please note - They will not leave for their new homes until they are 12 weeks of age and have been desexed, micro-chipped and vaccinated up to date.

Please Note: We do not hold any animals so please only apply if you are ready to adopt now
Please note - We don't take calls on adoption enquiries - an application must be completed

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $100) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 10 day trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby via email including the transfer of microchip form.
