About Fred & George Weasley
The Weasley brothers are two bonded kitties looking for their new adventure in their new forever home.
George is the bigger brother leading the pair: he is still a bit skittish, but he absolutely adores food, so he’ll follow you around at the first sight of his favourite treat! He likes to have his space, but always loves knowing what you’re doing, so he’ll keep a close eye on you (especially if he sees you opening a door or drawer! He always thinks there’s food on the other side).
Fred on the other hand is the chill peacemaker, he will always give loving head bumps to George when he’s stressed out to make sure he’s feeling well. Fred also loves food, but there’s nothing he loves more than a warm spot, so if you have a sunny area or an electric blanket, he’ll spend his days enjoying the warmth.
They are both quite shy at first, but with some patience and love (and treats!), you’ll find the sweetest companions.
They are better suited for a house with no children nor other pets, as they like being the kings of the house.
They are both FIV positive, but are super healthy and just need lots of love!
Medical notes
They are FIV+ (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus)
It is important to realize that while it is impossible to predict the survival of a given cat infected with FIV, they can live very normal, healthy lives for many years if managed appropriately.
Casual, non-aggressive contact does not appear to be an efficient route of spreading the virus. As a result, cats in households with stable social structures where housemates do not fight are at little risk of acquiring FIV infections.
How else can I help protect an FIV-positive cat?
Nutrition is important for all cats, FIV positive or not, along with limiting as best as you can their exposure to potential pathogens. These measures are important and can extend an already long life. It is especially necessary for FIV positive cats to be kept indoors, where their immune system will be less exposed. An examination at the vet twice a year is very important.
