Maggie is a sweet little girl, fit for her age, who will be good for someone who is looking for the companionship - at home or on a leisurely stroll - that a dog can bring. Maggie isn't a lapdog but she does like company and stays close to family members at meal times or when sitting on the lounge. Although she sleeps a lot, she enjoys wandering around the garden and loves her walks, getting very excited when her harness and lead appear. She was a little nervous initially when going in the car, but now has settled down in the short trips she has been on. She gets on well with other dogs, but will occasionally react if they get right in her face. She can sometimes react when being picked up because of her arthritis, so caution is required, particularly around young children. She is untested with cats.
Maggie is deaf, but it does not stop her from enjoying life. She does react to loud noises and occasionally barks. Apart from her deafness, for her age she is in good health, with her only on going medical requirements a 6-monthly injection for arthritis. In her past, she did carry a few extra pounds but thanks to a controlled diet, she is now a healthy weight.
Maggie is looking for a loving home to spend her final years. Will it be with you?
