About Locky
Two-year-old Locky the Maremma is a lovely, friendly companion dog, but he's failed to make the grade in his job as a livestock guardian, which is why he's being offered for rehoming as a pet, rather than a working dog.
The Maremma was developed to protect herds of sheep and most will bond quickly with their flock and protect them against all-comers...but not Locky.
He's not into flock protection and just wants to hang around with his human family and be a pet.
Locky is dog-friendly, but untested with cats and children.
This active youngster needs a minimum of 30 minutes of exercise per day, which is most easily achieved if he lives with another compatible dog or two in a home with a fully fenced yard with space to romp and play.
He's not suited to a highly urbanised situation. However, he has the right temperament to be a good companion for an individual or a family with older children. He walks quite nicely on a lead.

Locky's adoption fee is $200 and he is chipped, vaccinated and desexed.

Dogs:
The first step in our adoption process is to complete the online adoption application form at https://southerndownsark.com.au/apply-to-adopt/ This is a mandatory step and you are encouraged to answer all questions and provide photos of your yard and fencing.
All applications will be considered by our Adoption Team, following which a "meet and greet" will be offered to the top-ranking applicant.
The "meet and greet" is held in Warwick, Queensland. If successful, the applicant may adopt the dog and take him or her home the same day.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
