About Crosby
This stunning boy goes by the name of Crosby and isn’t he delightful? Crosby is an incredible dog and his foster carers are absolutely going to cry when he leaves as they just love him so dearly. Although he is gorgeous and a sweet boy he does need quite a particular home for his best self to shine through, so please read his profile carefully before applying to ensure your environment is the right fit for Crosby.
Crosby was surrendered to us by a wonderful family who loved him dearly. He has not had any “bad” history and was given a fantastic life by his previous owners. Unfortunately they had young kids and even after working extensively with trainers, Crosby was never comfortable in his own home so the tough decision was made that it was in Crosby’s best interests to find a new home with no kids so he can relax. He prefers a quieter lifestyle at home so we will ideally be looking for a younger retired couple with no regular visiting grandchildren or lots of regular visitors.
Crosby absolutely adores other dogs. In his previous home he was taken out every morning by the dog walker to go on group pack plays and is social with dogs of all ages and sizes. In his foster home, he has been going on regular outings and enjoys playing with other dogs. His trainer has said he should be an only dog in his home though, so we will be looking for a home without another dog, but one where he will still get plenty of opportunities to play with friendly dogs out and about.
At home he is a breeze, he has good basic training, is toilet trained, sleeps through the night and is happy to be home alone while his carers pop out here and there. He travels really well in the car, is not destructive and walks nicely on leash. He absolutely loves his daily outings and is a massive fan of going to the beach. He is an absolute dream at the groomers, but doesn’t love the vets so much.
Crosby needs a particular home due to his temperament. He has completely settled into his foster home now, but initially was quite reserved and anxious. He does have a few bites on his report card, a couple to the kids in his previous home and two with strangers in the home when settling into his foster home. These bites did not draw blood and were more of a snap with intention, but his new owners need to understand this history and be comfortable with it. He is the sort of dog that thrives off having clear communication and boundaries. He is a dog that a few subtle changes to handling create a completely new dog and these tips can be passed onto a new owner, but any home applying should have plenty of dog experience and understand dog body language and behaviour.
Once a solid relationship has been established Crosby is a dream dog and is a typical playful, affectionate and intelligent young dog. Crosby’s old owners said he had a sensitive tummy so has been on special kibble, his foster carers have been able to slowly add a range of different foods into his diet without upsetting his stomach. His new owners should continue on this kibble while he settles in and then work on adding new foods in.
Although Crosby will require a particular home environment and some initial work by his new owners to help him settle in and work out the balance in the relationship, once you get through this period you will be blessed with an incredibly special boy who is going to give you many years of joy. Crosby will require a home where he is allowed inside as part of the family, especially to sleep at night. The below dot points outline simply what we are looking for in a new home for Crosby:
-only dog
-no kids or regularly visiting kids
-a quieter home environment preferably just one or two adults without constant visitors
-someone home more often than not
-dog experienced owners
-can provide daily exercise and lots of opportunities for socialisation
-will continue his special diet
If you are interested in making Crosby a permanent member of your family, then please fill out an adoption application form on our website and provide plenty of details about your previous dog experience and what sort of lifestyle you can provide Crosby.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
