About Lou - 6 Year Old Siberian Husky~ Adopted 6/2023
LOOK AT ME…I’M LOU!! Lou is a 6 year old fluffy goofball who is waiting to meet his new best friend. Someone to stare at while you do your things around the house. A loveable goofball who will give one lucky person the comfort and love only a husky can give.
Lou is very affectionate with people - he loves pats and will paw you or chatter to you to ask you to continue patting him. He is a real people-dog - so if you want a new best friend who will happily spend the day inside with you then Lou is the perfect fluff ball. If you work from home he’d take up the role of being your right-hand man.
Lou is a bubbly and energetic boy who is well behaved inside - he loves being inside so much that you will barely hear a peep from him! As much as he’s a lounge-lizard he also loves his walks and enjoys receiving attention from the people he meets when he’s out with you. He would thrive with a daily walk, and with a bit of training he may make a fabulous jogging partner.
He absolutely loves water - he’ll play with the hose in the yard or enjoy a freshwater swim - he’s a bit unsure of waves at the beach but will still go in for a paddle. He has lived as an only dog for the last 4 years so is best suited in a home with no other pets . Being an Arctic he’s not suited to cats, chickens or pocket pets.
Lou doesn’t play with toys - he doesn’t seem to understand their purpose. He definitely isn’t suited to being an yard-only dog – and will just love to lounge by your side most of the day watching you earn your keep!
Of course being an arctic your fencing should be good. He is best suited to a home without small children, perhaps with a home with a semi-retired couple of husky lovers whose kids have already left the nest and would be best being an only dog so he can make sure he gets all the attention himself!
To register your interest in adopting Lou you can fill out the adoption questionnaire here https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
PLEASE NOTE: When applying for our dogs and puppies, please ensure to list the name of the dog you wish to adopt. Please do NOT just list the reference number or the microchip number as this will delay your application reaching the correct foster carer.
You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au or www.petrescue.com.au
Lou is in foster care in the Macksville, NSW area. They are currently available for interstate adoption. The adoption fee is $300.00 and they are desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms and microchipped.
PLEASE NOTE: Dog Rescue Newcastle provides individual listings with specific requirements for each foster dog. If you submit an application or inquiry and DO NOT receive a response within 5 business days, please understand that you have not met the specific requirements for this dog. Please do not be disheartened or discouraged, this simply means you were not a suitable match at this time.
