About Spike
Howdy Spike here, I’m a handsome red kelpie boy with just a splash of white on my chest and toes. I am 2 years old and over the puppy stage but still very playful.
I am a friendly, fun loving and intelligent chap. I love people and being included in everything you do. When it’s time to relax or work at the computer, I am happy to relax in my bed and wait for you to move!
I love learning new things and my foster mum says I’m a fast learner and training is easy because I love my food and tug toys. A flirt pole is fun too! I have learnt to walk on a lead but need to work on keeping the lead loose when there are exciting things around, like other dogs or people.
I am house trained and know how to use a doggy door. At night I sleep all night by the fire until someone wakes me up in the morning.
I have been living with other dogs in foster care and I play well with them. I am also happy to entertain myself with a toy and solo zoomies. I wouldn’t mind being an only dog though because then I’d have all the cuddles and attention.
I need a large secure yard or acreage with room to stretch my legs and do my zoomies. My new family will need to continue my training and provide me with plenty of mental stimulation. I’d prefer a home without cats or pocket pets as I find them just a bit too interesting. I’d suit a family with older children.
If you are looking for a loyal, handsome and intelligent companion don’t look any further, apply now! I am waiting for you!

Adoption details
To apply to adopt a dog from Dogs4Jobs, you must firstly complete our adoptions application form in full at http://dogs4jobs.com.au/adoption-form/.
You can also write out your answers and email them to dogs@dogs4jobs.com.au
*Please note, due to the high volume of applications received, we will not respond to Petrescue chat messages, or enquiries to adopt a dog. You must complete our adoptions form to be considered for the dog or pup, and we will respond to this form via our email.
We will then request to complete a yard check, or for you to send in photos of your yard showing the fencing, space, shelter and any hazards etc, to confirm it is safe and secure, as well as adequate space for a working breed dog.
Following this, we will then put you in touch with the dog/s foster carer/s that you are interested in, to chat further over the phone, about whether the dog is a good fit for your family, and vice versa. We are searching for the perfect match for each dog and their needs. We offer interstate adoption on all of our dogs.
