About Murphy - 2 Year Old Wirehaired Terrier X
Murphy is in need of a foster home. If you have experience in shy/timid dogs and can offer a safe and supportive environment for Murphy. Please submit a foster application online.
DRN will cover everything else such as vet, food, supplies and the support of trainers.
Introducing Murphy, our 2 ½ year old Wire Haired Terrier Mix.
Think Hairy Maclary x Harry Potter Werewolf x Black Pig with big sweet eyes that tell a story!
Murphy enjoys chasing a ball in the yard, pottering about sniffing or having a snooze on his bed. Those three things are alot better in his opinion than going for a walk.
A shy gentleman, Murphy is set in his ways. Once he is comfortable with you, he enjoys a gentle pat, even recently sitting on the shelter managers lap!
He prefers to have his own nook/spot to settle into safely and have a rest. Murphy is an inside dog who appreciates the comforts of a loving home.
He is a big fan of his food, he has shown no food reactivity and enjoys a treat when its offered.
He is not a fan of loud noises, change or busy environments, he would suit a quiet household. He is learning to be housetrained, he will take himself to a puppy pad or patch of artificial grass but sometimes mistakes happen! He is untested with young children, cats and pocket pets. He would be best suited with single, couple or family with older children.
Preferring the company of people, he is dog selective. If Murphy was rehomed with another dog, it would need to have a similar nature or calm, gentle manner.
Murphy would be best suited to a home including:
- An owner who is home most of the time
- Ability to provide time and patience to settle in
- A safe, quiet space to call his own
If you would like to meet Murphy or have any questions, please contact his docman4@bigpond.com. He is in care in Newcastle, NSW, and adoption fee is $600.
