NOTE: You are unable to meet Locky until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Locky in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.

What I need in my new home:
• BREED EXPERIENCE IS A MUST
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• To be allowed inside with my family
• I'm happy to walk past other dogs without any issue but I can be a bit dominant and protective of my things, so I'm best suited to being an only dog at home. Being an only dog and getting all of your love for myself would suit me just fine.
• A cat may be ok with a slow introduction.
• Due to coming to the shelter as a stray my history with children is unknown. I do seem to be a very gentle boy so I may be ok with children who are used to larger dogs.
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent) no wire fencing as i like to chew this.
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• A diet of good quality large breed dry food to help keep my teeth clean and bones healthy
• A family who promise to keep me well groomed and brush me regularly so I’m always looking and feeling my best
• Lots of love and attention
• I have lots of energy so an active family is a must
• Being an active breed I have a lot of energy so an active family is a must!
• If going to a home with a cat they must be dog savvy and we must be introduced slowly.

Things that I don’t want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car

My best features:
• Gentle & placid
• I can sit
• I have had some basic obedience training and am a well-mannered dog
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans
• I know my basic doggie commands
• I walk well on lead
• I appear housetrained
• I love attention, hugs, kisses & head scratches
• Love to snooze on the couch

Where I need to improve / Training required
• I appear to be quiet vocal at times when left alone - a family who has a lot of time for me, allow me indoors and leave me with lots of mental enrichment when home alone is recommended
• I appear to have issues with resource guarding when it comes to other dogs
