Pepe Rivero
Pepe is the sweetest, gentlest boy. At almost thirteen, he is not as playful and agile as he once might have been, but he is inquisitive and eager to explore.
He loves going for gentle walks and meeting new friends at the park. He enjoys pottering around the garden, sniffing and exploring. He’s comfortable using a doggy door and has likely been housetrained, though will need some reminding and encouragement, especially in a new place with new floor plan. He’s trying his best but sometimes has accidents so please be patient with him.
He’s been sharing a house and human with an extroverted young male terrier and the two dogs have gotten along well and respected each other's space and boundaries. Pepe would rather watch the play than get involved.
Pepe wants to know where you are always so is probably best suited to someone home most of the time. He’d appreciate a little furry friend for company (not sure how he is with cats). His ideal home won’t have too many stairs. Loud and sudden noises are frightening for him, so a home with young children (or visited often by them) would stress him out.
Little Pepe is also a little afraid of the dark and bedtime brings some stress. He whimpers, wanting to be close to you. So, he’d love it if he could sleep nearby - in a bed next to your bed, or in his bed on your bed. Once comfortable and feeling safe and secure, he sleeps through the night.
On his first few car trips with you, he might be stressed but when he understands he’s travelling with you and that you’re not leaving him anywhere, he’s a very chilled out travel buddy.
Pepe’s idea of heaven is a warm lap, gentle hands patting him and scratching his tummy, and a quiet home where he can easily find his person. He is longing to be loved and adored and in return will be your most devoted and loving friend.

Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer free assistance for six weeks for any issues, a lifetime takeback policy with full refund of the adoption fee, and will always be available to offer advice.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.
