About Otter
Hi! I'm Otter and I'm looking for a new family to call my own.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR OTTER
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM
https://forms.gle/Bg7RJW9N21MteFNs7
NOTE: You are unable to meet Otter until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Otter in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.
What I need in my new home:
• BREED KNOWLEDGE IS PREFERRED
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• I MUST go to a home with another dog as I am VERY timid around people but I come to life with another dog and this helps me gain confidence towards humans too.
• I MUST be allowed inside with my family
• Secure Fencing (no holes or gaps for me to squeeze through)
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• A diet of good quality dry food to help keep my teeth clean
• A family who promise to keep me well groomed and brush me regularly so I'm always looking and feeling my best.
• Lots of love and attention
• I can be shy at first so I need a family who'll allow me to grow in confidence in my own time
• I appeared scared of cats when meeting them at the shelter but would be fine to live with them if they'll be nice to me.
• TRAINING. It's ESSENTIAL I receive training in all aspects of my life so I can be the best dog I can be when I'm older.
• SOCIALISATION is as important for me as it appears I've led a very sheltered life and can be a bit nervous/shy in new situations. Since being at the shelter I'm becoming much braver though. Taking me to lots of different places, meeting lots of people (children, men, woman etc) and meeting lots of dogs and other animals will help boost my confidence
• Being a young puppy I will adapt & learn easily, how I mature will only be a reflection of you & my upbringing
Things that I don't want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
• No young children as I can be a bit shy in new situations and with new people and little ones may accidently scare me. Older children who will be involved with my training should be ok
My best features:
• Gentle & placid
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans once I trust them.
• Happy to hang out with other friendly dogs
Where I need to improve / Training required
• I will require full basic training as I've had no training experience yet
• I am extremely timid with new people and in new environments I MUST have a family who'll allow me inside so I can see it isn't a scary place and to allow my confidence to grow and continue on with my socialisation.
• I've only just learnt to walk on the lead since being at the shelter so I'm still a bit erratic but lots of walks will help me learn how to be great on the lead.
