About Callistemon (Red Collar)
Pup:
Mum, please tell me again where did I come from…. Pleeeaassseeee !!!!
Mum:
Oh Child, that is a story and a half but I am happy to tell it - again…..
I am still very young myself and found myself heavily pregnant in Taree Dog Pound.
Luckily the ladies there were very switched on and tried to find me a spot with a rescue organization so I could have my puppies in safety and peace and quiet.
And so a “Tag Team” or what the rescue organization calls it – the “Dane Train” was organized.
The ladies from Taree took me to Port Macquarie where we met with a driver from Queensland and the long journey to safety was under way.
I had a very comfortable bed made up in the back of the big car and the lady driver was very concerned that I would already have you and your brothers and sisters during the drive.
But my luck continued with my arrival at a great place where a very experienced puppy carer was waiting to take me into her whelping room – even with an ICU and all a “Mum to be” could ask for.
And that’s where you were born one week later and raised along with the rest of your siblings.
Now, the funny part is your DNA test result…
I was supposed to be a Great Dane Cross according to the Taree Pound and that’s why the rescue took me in ….
PLUS !!! I really needed help at that time so it was not really a question. They just did it and I am glad they did.
Of course everyone in the rescue was curious about the cross of all you pups.
The result is mainly Labrador, Husky, American Staffordshire Terrier and Weimaraner with a few other minor DNA variants.
How interesting is that !!!!
You pups were Great Dane weight at birth ranging from 450 – 600 grams and now look very chunky and interesting coloring. You are surely going to grow up being large size dogs and “cute as a button”.
And THAT’s !!! where you came from my little one….. now STOP biting my boobies… you are too old now and I have no milk left. Time to find your new home. Now go and play with your brothers and sisters. WOOF !!! OFF YOU GO.
