About Tiger
Hi I have been named "Tiger" 'cause I look like one! In fact, not only do I resemble a tiger but I have been given some of a Tiger's great attributes. I'm energetic and inquisitive and can jump up really high (especially on to your lap)!
I am a smaller American Staffordshire Terrier X and only 2 yrs and 6 months old. I can be a little cheeky, so it would be best for me to be in a structured household that can provide me with quality ongoing training, exercise and mental stimulation. I would love to do a dog sport such as scent work, it's a new fun activity I can do with my hoomans and ideal for those dogs (that's me) that find other dogs a bit confronting. I'm not really comfortable going to dog parks, but there are lots of other fun activities we can do together instead.
It'd be best for me to be the only dog in the household. That means I get to spend even more time with you! Speaking of spending time with you, I would like a hooman who can be home with me at first, and then can slowly help me get used to being on my own. Maybe you work from home or have a flexible job? I loove people so I get a bit worried if you leave me alone by myself too soon in a new place, but the staff feel I'll do well once I'm settled into a new environment.
I can get a little excited and jump around a bit before I settle, so ongoing 'four on the floor' training will help me to learn calm behaviour. My new family would need to have experience in training dogs in order to continue with my education. In fact another term to use would be "bouncy".
I would be best suited to a home with an experienced owner as I can be appeasing (that's when I use my body language to tell you I'm not a threat) and also get bit excited so I would like a hooman who will read me and help me be the best dog ever. If you know doggo body language, you'll know what to do when I get uncomfortable - hands off and give me a break! 'Cause I'm a little pocket rocket small children may get knocked over by my exuberance and therefore need a home with children over the age of 12yrs. I am a very good boy when I visit the vet, the staff just use a lick mat and I am happy to be examined. If you have a spot on the couch that I could fill, I will do my best to be the wonderful companion for you.
Come on in and meet me to see the great 'Tiger' that I am. xox Tiger
