About Ashanti
Hi there!
My name is Ashanti, it's nice to meet you. Thanks for stopping to get to know a little bit more about me!
I am a high energy girl that needs lots of stimulation, especially when settling into my new home. I'll need daily opportunities to get my energy out and decompress like some long walks where I can sniff and explore, plays in the backyard, water or sand pits, enrichment, puzzles... I'm super smart so love a challenge!
I'd love my future family to provide ongoing training with me as I am a young active breed and love learning new things! I've had a slow start to life so have some catching up to do on basic life skills, I don't know much about the outside world so need a family who is going to listen to my body language and take things at my own pace when introducing me to new things.
My family should have had experience with dogs like me in the past and understand the basics of dog body language. I'm a bit more high maintenance than other pups my age, but I can guarantee we'll have fun together! My breed is typically very active and smart, and I definitely match that description. You should know a bit about what it takes to make German Shepherds happy doggos before you take me home.
I can sometimes jump up and be a handful in certain situations and when my needs are not met -but I am super smart and can learn new things very quick! I do try and be the bestest, most well mannered girl all the time but I sometimes just can't help it. Because of this I would be best suited to a mature household so I don't accidentally hurt anyone small, I would feel absolutely terrible!
I enjoy being where my family is and suffer from FOMO, so access to indoors where I can hang out with everyone is important in my new home. I am a great inside dog, if you give me a nice bed and a toy to chew I'll make myself comfy. It's also important for me to be able to move around the house or go outside for some 'me time' if I am feeling uncomfortable or overwhelmed.
I'm still learning that not all other dogs are scary and will need your support and dedication to make sure I feel safe. I should go home as an only dog for now, but that just means you have more time for me! I should go to a home with secure fencing too.
If you want to meet me, please ask one of my friends here at the RSPCA to introduce us!
