Hi, my name is Blaze, sadly I need a new home due to my family moving to a rural property and still working in the city, so I’m left far too long on my own. I’ve also chased the sheep next door, which was very naughty of me but so much fun, and I just couldn’t resist it! Whoops, I got in big trouble ☹
I’m a very active boy, I don’t act my age at all, so just because I’m 9 years old please don’t let that put you off because I behave like I am 3! 😊
I’m not good with other dogs or cats, and of course I’m not able to live where there are farm animals.
I love playing with the ball, I love going for walks, but I pull on the lead and I’m very strong.
I need to have a one-on-one session with some training, preferable Trish at Four Paws K9 Training or with one of the trainers from Underdog Training & behaviour Consulting, this will depend on where my new owners live. SRV will organise this with my new owners. My name attention is good, I’ve had some training with a behaviourist when my current owners adopted me from the RSPCA 3 years ago, I learned to walk past other dogs OK, but my current owners were taught how to do this, so that’s why my new family need to be taught the same tricks.
I’ve lived with teenagers, who I love. They are great to play with and will throw the ball for me.
I loved getting my assessment, especially the body touch. The big black Kong is my favourite toy, I take food gently, and have no resource guarding with food or toys and I’m good in the car. I know how to sit and stay which made it easy for my photoshoot.
I don’t like thunderstorms, so you would need to be around if one was coming.
I hope someone special out there is willing to give me the loving home I deserve.

The current owners give Blaze Prozac when they are going out, this is the incorrect way to use this medication. SRV will explain better and more natural ways if Blaze is suffering anxiety.

and fill out the Adoption Request Form. You will receive an email acknowledgement within 3 days. If you do not receive any further contact after this please do not be discouraged. It just means that a suitable application was received before yours. We encourage you to contact Jan at jan.hutton@optusnet.com.au every week to show you are still interested in adopting. As we will already have your form on file it will fast track the process when a suitable dog does become available.
Adopt one of our dogs and we are there for you for the rest of the dog's life. If you find you and the dog are not suited it is a condition of sale that the dog comes back to Stafford Rescue.
