About Thelma and Louise
Howdy y'all, we're Thelma and Louise, the inseparable duo that will steal your hearts faster than you can say "Let's keep on going". Just like our namesake movie characters, we're a dynamic duo who go together like tequila and lime, cowboy hats and boots, and convertible cars and reckless driving.
You might think we're just two ordinary greyhounds, but we're far from it! We're loving, cuddly bunnies with a side of crazy. We love adventures, cuddles, and of course, tearing up the yard in a game of zoomies. Just like Thelma and Louise from the movie, we're always up for a good time and never shy away from living life to the fullest.
We might be a bit rough around the edges at times, especially when we play with each other, but we're mostly gentle and affectionate. we've got some quirks too. For example, we love going to the kitchen door for treats and the same side for meals. If one of us takes the wrong side, it's total confusion! Plus, we've got our own language, which our humans interpret as bossing or whinging about the establishment.
We love kids and have been cuddled up with some little ones who have stolen our hearts. But just like Thelma, we can get a little anxious and sleep startle when we're surprised, so we'd prefer some supervision. As for other animals, we haven't had much interaction with them, but we do get a little scared when they get in our personal space.
We're two peas in a pod and we definitely need each other. We need a backyard to run around in and exhaust some of that puppy energy, just like Thelma and Louise needed the open road to escape their problems. And just like the iconic duo, we've got some serious synchronicity going on. We race around the yard, turn at the exact same time, and even jump up from a nap at the same moment.
We're looking for some loving, empathetic humans who can keep up with our energy and craziness. Just like Thelma and Louise, we need some patience, experience, and lots of love to keep us going. And just like the movie, we'll remember our time with our humans forever, even if we have to hit the road and keep on going.

If the greyhound you have applied for is unavailable or unsuitable, we can match you with a more suitable greyhound. We may have a hound in foster care who might be well suited to your family.
STEP 2 – LET'S CHAT:
We'll phone you to discuss suitability, clarify any points of your application and chat process and next steps.
STEP 3 – HOUSE CHECK & MEET + GREET:
We'll come to you! The meet + greet is conducted at the same time that a house check is carried out. The meet + greet is the day that your newly adopted greyhound will be able to stay on with you.
Our adoption fee is $600.00 and must be paid on the day of the meet + greet, and prior to starting your 3 week trial. Support from our team is freely available. If you have any issues, we urge you to contact us to try and work through them, as all rescue greyhounds have some period of adjustment.
If after the 3 week trial, you feel that you need to return the greyhound, we will refund your adoption fee (less a $50 administration fee), upon return of the dog and all paperwork and other items that the dog was adopted with.
All of our hounds are adopted out with the following:
> Collar, lead & coat
> Certificate of sterilisation & vaccination
> Flea & worm treated
> Care information for your newly adopted greyhound
> Access to our private Facebook page for foster carers, volunteers and adopters of our hounds. A community with invaluable advice and support.
