About Nala
Hi! I'm Nala and I'm looking for a new family to call my own.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR NALA
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM
https://forms.gle/fTr35uqqMAZFgk34A
NOTE: You are unable to meet Nala until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Nala in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.
What I need in my new home:
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• To be allowed inside with my family
• A MALE doggie playmate who is gentle may be ok, however I'm not very interactive with other dogs as I prefer to spend my time with my humans. Being an only dog and getting all of your love for myself would suit me just fine.
• A cat may be ok with a slow introduction.
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• Lots of love and attention
• A submissive dog is the best housemate for me. But, I LOVE LOVE LOVE people, so I'm just as happy being an only dog getting all of your love and attention for myself
• SOCIALISATION is important. Taking me to lots of different places, meeting lots of people (children, men, woman etc) and meeting lots of dogs and other animals will ensure I become a social and well adjusted dog.
Things that I don't want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
My best features:
• Very playful
• Wiggle butt
• Gentle & placid
• I can sit
• I am a generally well-mannered dog
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans
• I know my basic doggie commands
• Love to snooze on the couch
• Happy and gentle
• I am a very clean girl in my kennel
Where I need to improve / Training required
• I will require ongoing training and further positive dog socialisation.
• I can be a bit bouncy -training should stop this
• I may show signs of anxiety when I'm left alone in the backyard. Leaving me some enrichment toys/treats may help this.
• I am scared of thunder & fireworks and will bark & whine. I will require a safe space to retreat to during these events as well as comfort and reassurance from my family.
• I am social with other friendly MALE dogs however I will react if they are too full on or reactive to me. I can be reactive to female dogs, further socialisation is recommended
